Hey There

About Me

I'm excited to tell you a little bit about me. My childhood was spent in a little town tucked away in the picturesque surroundings of northern Wisconsin, which served as the basis for my deep appreciation of the outdoors. My desire to be active and discover new things was ignited by the "up north" region's natural beauty and calm.  I associate summertime with the lake, where I can have fun waterskiing and find bliss. After placing third in a national competition and receiving national recognition, my commitment to the sport reached new heights. In contrast, I find that winter turns the surroundings into a snowy playground. I look forward to the changing of the seasons, whether it's downhill skiing or snowshoeing. Spending meaningful time with friends and family brings me fulfillment, even beyond my love of outdoor activities. My commitment has evolved into volunteering at the local Boys and Girls Club, which enables me to give back to the community that shaped my childhood. Early travel fuelled my spirit of adventure and became a love of mine. I had the amazing opportunity in high school to study in Germany for four months, which changed my viewpoint and helped me develop a profound respect for other cultures. Most recently I was able to spend a summer training for waterskiing in Louisana amongst world champions and also teaching the future generations of the sport. The experience plunged me into a new culture of the south while also working aside people from across the world including Russia, England, and Australia.I moved to Eau Claire to start my freshman year of college in the fall of 2021, excited to start a new chapter in my life. This university has turned out to be a fantastic chance for personal development and self-discovery. My favorite part of college has been serving on the board of the Waterski and Wakeboard team, where I've had the privilege of holding the positions of treasurer and, more recently, president. I'm grateful for all of the experiences I've had thus far, and I look forward to all of the new experiences and learning that lie ahead. I appreciate you allowing me to share a small portion of my life with you, and I am excited about the amazing chances that this life will bring.

Why Geography?

I choose Geography because it is the perfect degree for someone who wants to major in everything. I originally wasn't always declared as a Geography major but in the spring of my Freshman year I decided that an office job wasn't for me a set out to find something different. Geography isn't just memorizing states and capitals it goes much deeper by looking into relationships between space and place. I hope that my road as a geographer leads me to a job within Urban and Regional planning.
